Summit County Animal Control and Shelter is a Division of the Summit County Sheriff's Office.  We enforce the animal control regulations for unincoporated Summit County and the Town of Silverthorne.  The shelter is utilized by citizens and visitors of all Summit County. 

 

Division Mission Statement:
To enforce the regulations for domestic animals' care and control, there by providing protection to the people and property of Summit County.

To provide the domestic animals in our care with a secure, shelter environment.  To offer adoptable animals an opportunity for placement into permanent, responsible and safe homes where they are valued.
