Sheriff's Office Adaptation to COVID-19

In response to the spread of COVID-19 in our community, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office will be adapting how we do business.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE ADAPTATION TO COVID-19


               SUMMIT COUNTY, CO – In response to the spread of COVID-19 in our community, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office will be adapting how we do business.


Uniformed Patrol Deputy Services

  • Law Enforcement services are fully operational.
  • Deputies are responding to all calls.
  • Deputies may respond in person or by phone depending on appropriate call response.
  • Deputies may be wearing a face mask and other personal protective equipment, do not be alarmed. We care about your safety and ours.
  • If you are contacted by a Sheriff’s Deputy advise them if you are feeling ill or have other COVID-19 symptoms.


Justice Center Services

  • Summit County Combined Courts have limited their operational hours and services for any questions please visit the 5th Judicial District webpage on www.courts.state.co.us.
  • Sheriff’s Office Jail is fully operational.
  • All inmates housed in the facility are safe and being cared for by our contract healthcare and mental health care providers.  
  • The Jail has cancelled all group sessions and outside faith based services.
  • Inmate mail is being processed like normal.
  • Inmate visitation is available by phone and Securus Video Visitation at https://securusvideovisitation.securustech.net/.
  • The video kiosk and bond posting kiosk in the Justice Center lobby are available for use.
  • Sheriff’s Office administrative services are available on a limited basis.
  • Walk in office hours starting Tuesday, March 17 will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Call our administrative phone line 24 hours a day with any questions (970) 453-2232. This is not an emergency phone line. Call 911 with any emergency.
  • If you are contacting any of our staff advise them if you are feeling ill or have other COVID-19 symptoms.
