We can print Birth Certificates for people born in Colorado between 1900 to present.  Information about requirements and fees for Vital Records are below.

Corrections & Alterations


The County Clerk & Recorder doesn't have the ability to modify Vital Records such as Birth and Death Certificates (even a correction). People in need of modifications should contact the Colorado Office of Vital Statistics.  To make corrections, find forms in both English and Spanish, and to find State Vital Records contact information here.

ID Requirements


Photo Identification is required to prove eligibility to receive copies of Colorado Birth Certificates.  Additional documentation may be required to prove relationship, depending on the relationship claimed by the requestor between themselves and the registrant named on the record.

Cost


Per Request/Per Registrant:
$17.75 for the first copy
$10.00 for each additional copy

We accept cash, checks or credit/debit cards.  There is an additional convenience charge for all card payments.  


Death Certificates


Death certificates for people who passed away in Summit County are available through our office.  Requests may be made by funeral establishments or the general public, but are only fulfilled with appropriate paperwork, payment and to those eligible by law to receive copies.  Death records do not become public record until 75 years after the date of death.
